Selling physical products? You need to ship them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To set up shipping in WooCommerce, you first set up shipping zones,<\/strong> then add methods<\/strong> to those zones, and lastly, rates<\/strong> to your methods. You can create as many zones as you like, and add multiple methods and rates to each zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shipping Zones<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Shipping Zone<\/strong> is a geographical area to which you ship items. You can get as specific as you need, right down to regions and zip codes, or you can leave it more general \u2013 whichever suits you best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers only see the methods available for their address and corresponding zone. Each customer matches only one zone.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, you could create these zones in WooCommerce:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add as many zones as you need, with each zone containing multiple shipping methods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding and managing zones<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To set up shipping zones, go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping<\/strong>. If you don\u2019t see Shipping<\/strong> as an option, go back to WooCommerce > General<\/strong> and take a look at settings at Shipping Location(s) \u2013 you may need to enable shipping settings there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first time you visit WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping<\/strong>, there is a prompt to add a new zone, and a default zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Locations not covered by your other zones<\/strong> is used for customers who do not match any of the custom zones you add. Adding methods to this zone is completely optional<\/em>, depending on your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a customer enters a shipping address that is in a zone without shipping methods, they will be informed that no shipping is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since zones match from top to bottom, you can also exclude regions from shipping by adding a zone for that region and assigning no shipping methods to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding a new zone<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select Add shipping zone<\/strong> at the top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Enter<\/strong> a descriptive Zone Name<\/strong>, and select Zone Regions<\/strong> that apply. Regions can consist of: a) Countries, b) States, c) Continents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Select Limit to specific zip\/postcodes<\/strong> (if applicable) to further narrow which customers match this zone.

    For example, a local shipping zone can have a specific set of postcodes (one per line); a range of postcodes (e.g. 90210\u202699000), or<\/strong> use wildcards (e.g. CB23*).
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Select<\/strong> which Shipping Methods<\/strong> are available to this zone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Save changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Note: <\/strong>the numerical range method illustrated above ( e.g. 90210\u202699000 ) is not compatible<\/strong> with the US 9-digit\/Zip+4 format ( e.g. 90210-1234\u202699000-4321 ). We recommend using a wildcard as shown in the example above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the below example, we created three zones \u2013 Local, Domestic, and North America \u2013 to demonstrate how zones can be set up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sorting shipping zones<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Shipping zones match customer address from top to bottom \u2014 the first to match the customer address is always used<\/strong>. If no custom zones match, then Locations not covered by your other zones<\/strong> is used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To sort and reorder zones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Hover and click<\/strong> on the far left handles. A four-point icon appears on the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Drag and drop<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Editing shipping zones<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

      To edit a shipping zone:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      1. Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Hover<\/strong> over Zone Name<\/strong>, and the option to Edit<\/strong> and Delete<\/strong> appear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Select Edit<\/strong>, and a screen appears so you can change the name, regions or shipping methods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Save changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        The Locations not covered by your other zones<\/strong> section cannot be moved, renamed or deleted because it acts as a default when no other zones apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        To delete a shipping zone:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        1. Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Hover<\/strong> over Zone Name<\/strong>, and the option to Edit<\/strong> and Delete<\/strong> appear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Select Delete<\/strong>, and the Shipping Zone is deleted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Adding shipping methods to zones<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          To add a shipping method to an existing Shipping Zone:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          1. Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Hover<\/strong> over the Shipping Zone<\/strong> you wish to change, and select Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. Scroll down to Shipping Methods<\/strong> on the screen that appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          4. Disable<\/strong> an existing Shipping Method<\/strong> by using the button. Or select Add Shipping method<\/strong> to use a different one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          5. Save changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            Only shipping methods that support Shipping Zones are listed. If you have a method that does not support Shipping Zone, it is shown in the navigation menu and works globally\/independent of Shipping Zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Removing shipping methods from zones<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            To remove a shipping method from a Shipping Zone:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Go to: WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Hover<\/strong> over the Shipping Zone<\/strong> you wish to change, and select Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Scroll down to Shipping Methods<\/strong> on the screen that appears.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. Hover over the Shipping Method you wish to remove, and select Delete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            5. Save changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              Control the shipping method selected by default<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

              The default Shipping Method for customers is the top listed, enabled<\/strong> shipping method in the zone that they match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              In this screenshot example, Local Pickup is chosen for customer that matched the Local Shipping Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Drag and drop to reorder shipping methods using the handles on the left, then Save Changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              You can also control how shipping methods are ordered in the cart page, in the same screen. All the selected shipping methods will be sorted in the cart page, in the same order you followed, to arrange them in this screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              For customers matching the Local shipping zone parameters, shipping methods appear in the cart in the same order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
